St Andrew's Roseville Church

Community involvement & events

Think...

St Andrew's Think... forums are a way for us to foster discussion on topics at the heart of modern life. This year, we've held two forums.

On 1 April, Melinda Tankard-Reist, Director of Women's Forum Australia, presented: Thin, Hot and Sexy: recognising the true worth of our girls and boys.

Our second forum was held on 5 November. This discussion was on the topic, The Heart Of Parenting: finding the right level of involvement in our children's lives. The panel of speakers included Catherine Williams (principal of Roseville Public School) and Briony Scott (principal of Roseville College), together with our assistant minister, Pete Stedman.

ESL Classes

ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are conducted in the church hall every Thursday morning starting at 10.00am.

Playgroup

A community playgroup is run in the lower hall every Wednesday and Thursday during school term.

The Clanville Cup

The inaugural Clanville Cup was held on the afternoon of Sunday 13 September. This local street-vs-street touch football competition provides one context for building a stronger sense of community in our own suburb.

Women's Events

A variety of women's events are organised through the course of the year. These include an annual Women's Dinner and the very popular Christmas night, which includes cooking demonstrations.

Time Out

Our 9.00 am congregation organises Time Out activities, which are mostly held on week days. People from all St Andrew's congregations are welcome to come along and are encouraged to bring friends. Recent outings have included a tour of the airport, a visit to the National Gallery in Canberra, and attending lunch time concerts in the city.

For more information regarding any of these activities, please contact Carolyn Hummel in the church office: office@standrews.net.au or 9412 2553.
